Winter's Assault on Lake Michigan   The bitter winds of January turn Lake Michigan against itself, as waves bearing frozen balls of ice and slush crash onto the growing ice shelf.

The Frozen Surface of Lake Michigan   Throughout the winter sizable mounds of ice and snow accumulate across the surface of the Lake. In the distance, open water sloshes against the ice shelf ready to create new ice formations when the next storm strikes.
